About Cpl. Keith Heacook
Cpl. Keith Heacook was a dedicated police officer who served with the Delmar Police Department for over two decades. He was known for his deep commitment to his community, his compassion, and his unwavering dedication to protecting others. Keith was not just a police officer—he was a son, husband, father, and friend whose presence brought comfort and safety to the people of Delmar and beyond.
On April 25, 2021, while responding to a call in the line of duty, Cpl. Heacook sustained critical injuries after being brutally attacked. Despite the efforts of medical professionals and an outpouring of community support, Keith passed away from his injuries days later. His sacrifice deeply impacted our entire region and reminded us all of the bravery and risks that law enforcement officers take every single day.
In his honor, Heacook Fest was created as a way to keep his memory alive and support the men and women who continue to serve. The event brings together the community with live music, food, vendors, and activities, while raising funds for causes connected to law enforcement and first responders.
Below are news articles and features from past Heacook Fests, highlighting the incredible turnout and the continued support from our community year after year
